Located in Carrollton Illinois, the Greene County Historical and Genealogical Society's mission is to research, collect care for, exhibit, and interpret items that illustrate the history of Greene County from settlement to the present time, and place it in the context of the history of the State of Illinois. The Society shall
  • assist in historical and genealogical research for educational and patriotic purposes
  • provide for the preservation of such material and its accessibility to all who wish to examine or study it
  • shall encourage the preservation of historic buildings, monuments, and markers.

Located in the Lee-Baker-Hodges House, the organization disseminates historical information by publicizing such material in newspapers or otherwise, by developing educational programs, and by operating a museum for the benefit of the public.

The purpose of this site is to provide information about services available from the Society, location and office hours, and contact/membership information.
